U.K. extreme metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have begun recording their new album for a tentative early 2011 release. The band states, "All music [is] finished, only three more songs to finish vocals for now. Will hopefully be finished this week."

Swedish death metallers VOMITORY have entered Leon Music Studios outside Karlstad, Sweden with producer Rikard Löfgren to record their eighth full-length album for a spring 2011 release via Metal Blade Records. The drum tracks to two songs have been laid down so far. A studio diary can be found at the official VOMITORY forum. Löfgren co-produced VOMITORY's last two albums. VOMITORY recently posted its cover version of NAPALM DEATH's "Mass Appeal Madness" on MySpace. Commented VOMITORY: "Since spring 2005 we have had this little piece of brutality laying in our digital drawer, and we admit it's a shame it hasn't seen the light of day until now! "This version of 'Mass Appeal Madness' was recorded for a NAPALM DEATH tribute album that never saw the light of day. "With this song we want to give you fans something exclusive but also salute one of the most influential bands for VOMITORY — ever since 1989 to present day." VOMITORY's version of "Mass Appeal Madness" was recorded at Speedball studios in Karlstad, Sweden in April 2005. It was engineered by Johan Carlsson and mixed by Henrik Larsson in Malmö, Sweden.

Texas-based, mythological occult metal band ABSU will join the mighty IMMORTAL on their return to the U.S. for six shows early next year. These upcoming performances will mark the first time that ABSU will appear live as a trio. Proscriptor comments, "I am here to announce that guitarist Aethyris McKay has decided to quit ABSU and has recently relocated to Oslo , Norway to join PANTHEON I. Working with Aethyris for the past three years has been a prosperous experience and I have the utmost respect for him as my comrade and a superlative musician. He assisted me in resurrecting the band from its hiatus stage and I truly thank him for helping me recast the spell of 'mythological occult metal.'" After completion of the dates with IMMORTAL, ABSU will enter the studio to begin recording its new album, titled "Abzu". The recording will be the second of a three-part series. Proscriptor reveals, "This recording will feature our signature sound in maniacal fashion. Now, we're appending dirtier elements of psychedelia and fusion characteristics. Lyrically, it will descend deeper into Enki's lower world as well the Enochian Magic(k) System. I can tell you this album will definitely not be a "natural progression" from previous releases, but a feat of metaphysical conquest and murkiness." Eno ga na novitetima ceo dan. Inače, meni je blago razočaravajući jer je ceo album urađen u onom zajebantskom maniru kao EP (sve 4 pesme sa EP-ja su ovde). Kul je to sve, ali daj manite se već jednom toga i snimite nešto kao što beše "Dahmer". "Dracula" najbolja na albumu verovatno.
