The time is drawing nearer to the 20th anniversary celebrations and we thought we’d let ya’ll know that over the past couple of weekends we’ve been busy down the Katatonia HQ practicing a whooping two dozen songs for the upcoming tour. We have some really cool surprises coming up and can reveal that about 4 songs have rarely been played live before and 6 tracks have never been played live before!!! The rest of the songs are a variation of oldies that we haven’t played for a long time and of course also some of the newer stuff. I.C.S Vortex has officially announced his return to BORKNAGAR. To mark this grand cooperation between Vintersorg and I.C.S. Vortex, the organizers of the Inferno festival have revealed that BORKNAGAR will headline the 2012 edition with both vocalists on stage. Over the past months, there has been a wide array of rumors and speculations about I.C.S Vortex' involvement with BORKNAGAR, so now it's time for us to bring this out from the dungeons and into the plains of clarity: Vortex is back as a permanent member of BORKNAGAR. Vortex will handle the bass as well as doing vocals together with Vintersorg. I.C.S. Vortex was re- introduced to BORKNAGAR in 2010 after a 10-year break with his participation on "Universal" as guest vocalist, and also stepped up to help out the band on a tour of South America that was later canceled. Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing has released the following statement regarding his departure from the band: "Dear friends, "It is with much regret that I will not be with you this summer. "Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns about my health. Please rest assured that I am OK. "There has been an ongoing breakdown in working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band's management for some time. Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans. However, I would urge you to please support the PRIEST as I have no doubt that it will be a show not to be missed. "All my love and respect."

Vocalist Niklas Kvarforth of Swedish extreme metallers SHINING has issued the following update: “Guitarist Fredric Gråby has left the ranks of SHINING today because he no longer felt able to continue playing. Unfortunately, this means that we have been forced to cancel our appearance at the Ragnarok Festival this month as there is not enough time for a new guitarist to learn the material. We are also pleased to announce that Christian Larsson, who has been playing bass with the band for some time on a temporary basis, has now has joined SHINING as a permanent full-time member."

British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, EXODUS) has revealed to Radio Metalthat he will enter the studio this summer with San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans TESTAMENT to begin work on the follow-up to 2008's "The Formation Of Damnation". A late 2011/early 2012 release is expected. "The new album will most likely be a culmination of 'The Gathering' [1999] and 'The Formation of Damnation', but we're definitely not going to forget who we are or our roots. I think we've found a comfortable spot in our writing style," TESTAMENT vocalist Chuck Billy stated in a 2010 interview.
