Prvo izdanje je Consecration & Temple of the Smoke Big Band - Consecration in the Temple of the Smoke.

I guess initial reports that Belgian death metal act Aborted would start recording in January were wrong. Instead, the band will begin recording its seventh full-length record from June onwards at the infamous Hansen Studios with producer Jacob Hansen (Hatesphere, Volbeat). The band will be tracking over 15 tracks of the most brutal and intense material they have written to date; the album will be called Global Flatline. The final record will contain 12 songs. This year marks the ten year anniversary of Aborted’s Engineering The Dead so the band decided to re-record two tracks off the album as part of the bonus material for Global Flatline Said frontman Sven de Caluwé: “We are thrilled to be finally recording Global Flatline and have the material out there. It is exciting in many ways, one being that this might be one of the most important records in Aborted’s career.” You don’t say. “We really took our time in composing the most heavy and uncompromising material the band has written to date. Some of the material is faster than ever, some of the material is slower than ever, some old school and some new school, inspired by all eras of Aborted, yet still sounding unique on its own. Writing this record definitely took us back to the roots of why we started playing this kind of music in the first place, the passion and adrenaline you get from playing extreme metal.”

Norwegian progressive black metallers Borknagar are back on Century Media, having signed a three-album deal with the label. Borknagaer are currently working on material for its next CD, which is tentatively due sometime in early 2012. Killer! The band had been signed to the label between 1996 and 2008. I didn’t know labels still offered three-album deals to bands that weren’t Linkin Park. “Well, sometimes life takes slightly unexpected yet great turns,” says Borknagar mainman Øystein G. Brun in a statement. “Due to internal business affairs, the deal with Indie Recordings was mutually terminated by both parties in January 2011. Since then we have been negotiating a possible re-signing with Century Media Records.” The statement continues. “While you are reading this, Jens F. Ryland and I are at the headquarters of Century Media Records in Dortmund to ink a new deal with our old partners in crime. It feels very good to be back in the fold of the mighty Century family; there is simply no team, no label alike.” So, that happened. I am looking forward to the next effort from these dudes. It’s going to be epic. And Norwegian.

Kapiram da je već viđeno, ali ne škodi And there she be! She’s a beaut, isn’t she! Anytime I see the Morbid Angel logo, I get a little pep in my step. Of course, the Floridian death metal icons have named their new one Illud Divinum Insanus and the long-awaited disc will be out June 7 through Season Of Mist. Our first taste of the new Morbid Angel record will allegedly come in May, when a single for the song “Nevermore” will be released on seven-inch vinyl and as a digital download. The cover art was created by Gustavo Sazes, who had the following to say: “To create this cover we worked from several references, ideas, elements, and I would say a ‘world’ of options and paths. After a long brainstorming period and some [good and bad] ideas left behind we came up with the concept of this organic surreal insane being; a fallen God or a weird mirror image of our own madness. It is a different Morbid Angel cover for sure, but I think that’s how Morbid Angel is…Deviant and different on each new release. They never repeat themselves. They are always pushing the boundaries and setting new standards. I’m really proud of the final results and hope the fans appreciate my work, while listening to the new album!” Illud Divinum Insanus was recorded at Hate Eternal leader Erik Rutan’s Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida; Rutan engineered the bastard. The new CD is the band’s first to be recorded without longtime drummer Pedro “Pete” Sandoval, who last year underwent back surgery for a deteriorating disc problem. Tim Yeung has been filling in for him ever since.

Meshuggah’s Fredrik Thorendal recently spoke about his band’s new album in the May 2011 issue of Guitar World magazine, but you don’t have to get a copy of the mag to see what he said. We have his words for you right here. This is what Freddy had to say: “We are working on a new album and have been for a long time. I’m so excited about this one. We’ve always tried to change how we write songs to keep it exciting, but on recent albums, we’ve also been moving further away from working together as a band.” He says with the new disc, “everyone is working together. Every day that we’re in the studio, we’ll play whatever song we’re working on, record a demo version of it to analyze at home, and then come back the next day, talk about it and try to make it better.” He added that he thinks “because of this it’s going to be our best album yet. We don’t have a title yet, but when it comes to new gear, this one is going to be special.”

Inače, preporuka za The Grand Astoria. Izdali tri albuma u tri godine, ruski bend.
