Live-Metal.net recently conducted an interview with ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott. An excerpt from the interview follows. Live-Metal: Would there ever be any chance of a CARCASS reunion? Michael Amott: "There's nothing discussed and those guys have kind of moved away from this music, where I'm the retard. I'm still doing this. I'm still growling and playing ridiculous guitar parts for a living. They kind of moved on and did different things. I have a hard time visualizing that. I can't really see it. I can't really see us on a stage together." Live-Metal: I wouldn't want ARCH ENEMY to break up or anything for a CARCASS reunion. Michael Amott: "No, and I love playing with these guys. These guys are some of the best players in the business. It would be hard to just give that up. I would do a CARCASS reunion if it was done right and if it was done for maybe a tour only. It would have to be soon before everybody dies." Live-Metal: So I guess you didn't have any involvement in Jeff [Walker]'s solo album coming out ["Welcome to Carcass Cuntry"], the country-metal album or whatever it is? Michael Amott: "He's got a very twisted mind, so I'm very interested to hear it. But from what I hear, it's not metal. I'm just happy that he's getting back out there. He's actually playing bass now for a band called BRUJERIA. I think Jeff Walker, he's a very talented person. He has a very talented way with words and artwork ideas. He's a very creative person. I always thought it was weird that he didn't do more music after CARCASS. I always thought he was a very creative person. But it's cool that he's getting back into it. As for a CARCASS reunion, I don't know. Do you think people would be excited by that?" Live-Metal: Well I know "Heartwork" is probably one of my favorite— Michael Amott: "Yeah, I was talking to Gary Holt from EXODUS yesterday and he was like, 'We were way into 'Heartwork' when that came out.' We had no idea that EXODUS, kind of an established band that we grew up listening to — it was unthinkable that they would be into what we were doing. I think afterwards it's become bigger than what it was at the time." Live-Metal: I think what you guys did then is what all these bands are trying to do now. Michael Amott: "Yeah. It's weird. I was part of that, so I can't really have an objective point of view. It was just something that happened at the time." Read the entire interview at www.live-metal.net.

Autumn Aurora ovaj Blood In Our Wells sam skoro skinuo i nisam ga bash temeljno slushao al zvuci ok
-

Sweden's HAMMERFALL have entered the studio to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken", tentatively due in October via Nuclear Blast Records. Guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following recording update on his official blog: "This was a good day! Everyone woke up around nine or ten and gathered in the kitchen to have breakfast together. Then, while I had a quick shower (no time to play with myself, unfortunately), the others went back to 'Dark Wings, Dark Words'. After going through the remaining two choruses, it was time to crank it up a notch or two with the speedy 'Shadow Empire'. Magnus' [Rosén, bass] pick technique is impressive considering he's never really played with it before. I didn't know (think) he could do it this well, but blood, sweat and tears once again pays off in the end. Good on ya, dude! "That took all day, though, and around 4:30 Charlie [bauerfeind, producer] was satisfied and we could switch songs. 'Rebel Inside' was Magnus' next choice, and being a pretty simple-structured song, it didn't take too long to finish. Ready just in time for dinner, as a matter of fact. Lots of punding groove here, and, once again, sounded tremendous because of the pick. This is what has been missing from the bass recordings on the past four albums (on 'Glory To the Brave', Fredrik Larsson played bass, and he used a pick). Fuckin'-A! "After food, it was triplets time again (woo-hooo...), in the form of 'Threshold'. I swear, these fucking triplets are going to be the end of us all! It's one thing to be rehearsing and think you can play them OK, and a whole 'nother ball game when you sit in the studio trying to perform like a machine. But eventually, he nailed every one of the little fuckers, and with a pick it sounded beautiful. Ate up the whole evening, but that's OK. Magnus needs to go through three songs a day, and that is exactly what he's doing." Other songtitles set to appear on HAMMERFALL's new CD include "Natural High", "The Fire Burns Forever", "Carved In Stone", "Titan", "Genocide" and "Howlin' With The 'Pac".

BLIND GUARDIAN frontman Hansi Kürsch has posted the following message on the band's official web site: "Time to break the silence, time to say hello. As you all most probably know: we have finished the album some days ago and started doing some first shows already. It has been a blast to be back on stage again and do these small shows in Rijssen and Vosseljaar. We appreciate the kindness and the support of the people there and enjoyed the club atmosphere a lot. Istanbul was a great experience and 'The Bard's Song' sung by more than 2000 Turkish fans has been nothing but spectacular. I could go on like that but I guess what you are more interested in at the moment is the new album. "Even though the secret is revealed already I would like to point out one more time the album is entitled 'A Twist in the Myth' and that's just because I unfortunately could not find allies for my most favorite album title suggestion 'A Day at the Races'. 'With this album, I think, we have widened the range of the BLIND GUARDIAN universe more than we have ever done before. Comparing it with a compass 'Fly' would be west, 'Skalds and Shadows' east, 'This Will Never End' south and 'The Edge' would be north. Does that mean anything? No. But it sounded good, when I first thought about it. Now I think it's not worth to be deleted. 'In terms of quality, we have had a very good feeling during the whole recording session. But I nevertheless have do admit that the songs did make a gigantic step during the last days of recording and the mixing session. 'While doing the last recording steps, which traditionally are reserved for backing vocals, all songs have made a significant raise in quality. To give you a very small idea about what to expect, I tell you this: 'The Edge' and 'In Search of the Lionheart' certainly will achieve absolute cult status within a very short amount of time. They are very heavy, almost thrashy, though very progressive in certain ways. "'Skalds and Shadows' will prove its longevity in numerous live concerts. To those who consider it a"'The Bard's Song' rip-off: the album version clearly proves it is a"'A Past and Future Secret' rip-off, with a different melody, different rhythm pattern and different lyrics, which reminds one of"'Harvest of Sorrow'. "Marcus and I composed a number called 'All the King's Horses', which will be released on the Japanese version of 'A Twist in the Myth' and on a single we are going to release in the beginning of 2007. It is a great song which will set emotions free, I am sure. 'We are most excited about what your reaction to 'Another Stranger Me' — an aggressive and powerful heavy rocker — will be. The song has great potential. 'A very good mixture of the BLIND GUARDIAN blend we have found in the songs 'This Will Never End', 'Straight through the Mirror', 'Carry the Blessed Home', 'Turn the Page', 'New Order' and 'Otherland'. These songs will be enjoyable for all B.G. fans. They contain most strong elements of the past and a very good amount of new elements — so they offer a perfect mixture of both worlds, i.e. they present a constant mixture of bombastic elements, surprising breaks, an endless amount of new and very catchy melodies and the right grade of heaviness. Nuclear Blast is going to release a digi pack version containing interviews and one bonus track. This song is called 'Dead Sound of Misery' and presents a dark version of 'Fly'. While mixing the album it was very difficult for us to decide which version would be the better one. Knowing 'Fly' already you will be led from surprise to surprise. The song clearly proves nothing is how it seems to be. The album is going to be released in the first days of September. As you all know by now Anthony Clarkson did a great cover artwork and Nikolay Simkin's booklet design is simply outstanding. "Some of the new songs will be presented on the road when we will start touring in September. We will use the summer break to check out which songs will fit in best to the program. "So everything and everyone is in pretty good shape. All preparations for the fall tour are on schedule and the interest in tickets for the tour is really high. It pretty much looks like there are even more fans willing to see us than in 2002 which was the most successful tour we have done up to now. I'd better let you go and stop here. One more time we would like to thank for your patience and can't wait to hear and see your reaction to the new songs. As soon as there are some download samples, we will let you know. Your endurance will be rewarded." car je Hansi

Guitarist Johnny Stoj of the Australian metallers PEGAZUS has posted the following update on the band's official web site: "Finally, the first-ever PEGAZUS DVD is just about to be scheduled for an official release worldwide. The title is 'Pegazus – Mythology Chapter II (2000-2006)'. All that we are waiting for now is to go through some of the necessary procedures, like getting the classification and rating for the DVD which can take up to four weeks. It has been a long process so far but this is the last step before release. It will be released via Battlegod Productions and Twilight distribution from Germany sometime in late June. We will have a picture of the DVD cover and all the tracks/chapters, info and bonus features for you on the next band news update right here in the next few weeks. "As for the new album, we are still working on it. There will now be a slightly longer delay on recording due to our drummer's personal commitment overseas from May to July. Ange has only just left for Europe last week and he will be back in two months on July 6th. Ange will be at the Bang Your Head festival in Germany and the Gods Of Metal festival in Italy, so any fans going to those shows, you just might bump into him. We will resume recording the first half of the album soon after Ange gets back. We're hoping to have the whole album recorded in its entirety and then mixed and produced in Europe later this year with an official worldwide release either toward the end of this year or very early in 2007. "A couple of months ago in March, PEGAZUS received a special invitation from the Western Bulldogs Football Club to perform a live show at the clubs Annual Family Day Event. It's no surprise to some, seeing that I have been a loud and proud supporter of the club all my life. The reason for the invite? About a year ago I actually wrote a song called 'Spirit of the West'. It's an inspirational tribute to the club and players, which I had been thinking about doing for a few years now. I finally wrote it, we went into the studio with the band in the middle of last year, recorded it with myself doing the lead vocals and it has been very highly praised and received extremely well so far. The song has been offered to the Western Bulldogs Football Club and the EJ Whitten Foundation for Prostate Cancer. Now it is up to both parties, whether they decide to manufacture to sell the song/CD, otherwise it may even possibly become a bonus song for the band somewhere down the track?"

Canada's technical metallers INTO ETERNITY are currently hard at work recording the follow-up to 2004's "Buried In Oblivion". Guitarist and mainman Tim Roth said, "This week Jim (Austin) finished tracking drums on six songs, and I'll start recording all the guitar parts Thursday. Hopefully I'll be done this weekend as we start recording Troy's bass on Monday and are shooting to get to vocals recorded by next weekend. All signs point towards an early fall release, if all goes well. I'd also like to say that the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival went great, and we got some great photos from that trip, check them and our photos with DRAGONFORCE out here. We also posted photos from our sold-out hometown show there as well. That'll have to tide you guys over until we get back on the road. See all of you later this year!"

Less than a week after announcing the addition of guitarist Mark Zavon (STEPHEN PEARCY, 40 CYCLE HUM) to the group's ranks following the departure of Darrell Roberts, W.A.S.P. appears to have had a change of heart and have welcomed back axeman Doug Blair.
