“The Ascent of Everest” su američki eksperimentalni, post-rock sastav iz Nashville-a. Ovaj šestočlani bend imaće priliku da se beogradskoj publici predstavi u ponedeljak, 24. Oktobra 2011 u Kulturnom Centru “Grad”.

 

Iako dolaze iz matice američke country muzike The Ascent of Everest su u svom muzičkom opusu odbacili tradiciju i utkali gotovo filmske, epične pejzaže uzdignuća i poniranja, ispoljene kroz slobodu ali i manirizam onoga što se danas klasifikuje kao post-rock. Bina puna različitih instrumenata, Backley-jevski vokali utopljeni u “kilometarski” reverb i zid emocije i energije koja se kreće u pravcu publike pečat su nastupa The Ascent of Everest. I samo ime ovoga sastava naslućuje epiku putovanja od ponora do vrhunca na koje će nas odvesti svojom muzikom.

Kao i uvek kada nam u goste dolazi sastav sa američkog kontinenta muzički standardi i očekivanja su visoki kako kod izvođača tako i kod publike onih koja se nađe na nekom od takvih koncerata.

TAOE su nastali 2005 godine i do sada su binu delili sa bendovima kao što su A Silver Mt. Zion, The Drift, Balmorhea, By The End of Tonight, Rasputina, Cannon Blue, Tides, Kayo Dot, Sparrows Swarm and Sing, This Will Destroy You i nizom drugih.

Dosadašnja diskografija benda obuhvata albume “How Lonely Sits the City”(2006) , “ From This Vantage”(2010) i split CDLP sa sastavom “We All Inherit the Moon”(2009) .

Inace meni novi M83 ostavio veoma slab utisak, bas mi je nekako mlak. Ima dobrih momenata, ali zato ima i brdo filera. Sta ja zanm, razocaran sam jel volim sve albume do ovoga, mada ko zna mozda mi se popravi utisak posle par slusanja.

I M83 mi je dobar skroz, ali nisam ih ranije slusao, tako da ne mogu da poredim sa ranijim radovima.

Through this endless sense of conquering one group of people by another

And in that consciousness there is the racial group content

And ultimately there is death

This is our consciousness

Beliefs

Certainties

And uncertainties

Great sense of anxiety

Loneliness

Sorrow

And endless misery

This is a fact

And we say this consciousness

IS MINE

Is that so?

Go to the Far East or the other east,

India, American, Europe

Anywhere you go where human beings are

They suffer

They're anxious

Lonely

Depressed

Melancholy

Struggling conflict

Same like you

Similar like you

So is your consciousness from the other?

I know it's very difficult

Maybe to logically accept

Which is intellectual verbally say yes

That is so

Maybe

But to feel this total human sense that there is no humanity except you

You are the rest of mankind

That requires great deal of sensitivity

It's not a problem to be solved

It isn't that, 'I must accept that I'm not an individual

And how am I to feel this global human entity?'

Then you've made it into a problem

And the brain is ready to solve the problem

Do this

Don't do that

Go to a guru

You know all the circus that goes on

But if you really look at it

With your mind

With your heart

With you whole being

Totally aware of this fact

Then you have broken the program

Za one sa malo jačim stomakom za post rock, tj za duže pesme koje kulminiraju na kraju. Malo podseća na godspeed što je samo za sebe dovoljna preporuka. Inače kao što piše u opisu ima dosta izgovorenih reči, tj tekstova, što je meni zanimljivo, uz odličnu muziku koja sve to prati. Imaju par spotova koji su odlični, mada može se reći i da su kratki filmovi. Preporuka od mene, pa ko voli nek izvoli.

Meniscus su počeli da uploaduju svoje pesme na youtube, pozdravljam njihovu inicijativu Za pesmu 130 su uzeli snimke koje je nedavno NASA valjda objavila, većina je verovatno već videla. Savršena kombinacija.
