Nightwing Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Battlestar Getting Split to 2009? Think waiting eight months at a time for new episodes of "Battlestar Galactica" is bad enough? Wait to hear how long you may have to wait to see how the story ends. Jamie Bamber, who plays Lee "Apollo" Adama in the series, told fans at the recent Dragon*Con convention in Atlanta that SciFi Channel is considering splitting the show's final season to begin in both February 2008 and February 2009. "The actors actually ripped SciFi, with Bamber saying that the channel is not used to producing high-quality material and now that it has a hit, it doesn't know what to do with it," a source known as Jedi X told the Ain't It Cool News Web site. Following the site's initial report, other attendees at Dragon*Con said it sounded like the actors -- which included Aaron Douglas and Richard Hatch -- were simply joking. Jedi X, however, said that was not the case. "Douglas, Bamber and Hatch were talking about the current gap in the show and one of them said that the plan was to split the final season between 2008 and 2009, a lot of people laughed and thought it was a joke and that they were ripping SciFi," Jedi X said. "But then Bamber said, 'No, really. That's the plan right now,' and then the audience groaned. So he may have been adding to the 'joke,' but that was not the impression I got. [bamber] even went on to say that this is how SciFi essentially gets two final seasons for the cost of one." There will be some significant changes in the upcoming fourth season. Bamber has longer hair and a beard, which the actor said indicates he will have more of a civilian role in the final season. And while Bamber may be growing out his hair, Douglas shaved his off apparently since his character of Chief Tyrol is apparently dealing badly with the fact that he's a Cylon. http://syfyportal.com/news424118.html Quote

Nightwing Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 BSG SRPSKI FORUM PONOVO RADI Razor vesti Sci Fi Kanal će tokom oktobra i novembra emitovati “mini-zode” pod nazivom “Razor” tokom pauza u emitovanju epizoda serije Flaš Gordon. petkom u 9 uveče. Viliama Adamu će ovde igrati glumac Niko Kortez, mlađu verziju lika koga igra Edvard Dzejms Olms u seriji i TV filmu. posteri i spekulacije o 4toj sezoni If the reports are true, Sci Fi will air the first 10 episodes in February 2008, then put the show on ice until February 2009, when the final 10 episodes of Battlestar Galactica would air. Nightwing Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Kendra Shaw is an officer on Pegasus whom Commander Lee Adama chooses to become his Executive Officer after taking command of the ship At the time of the initial Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies, she holds the rank of lieutenant , but is promoted when she assumes her position under Adama. Starbuck describes her as a "loose cannon"(Razor). Notes * Shaw is likely to be a major character in "Razor". As she does not appear in either of the first two seasons (pre-"Razor"), or in season three, her past and eventual fate are unknowns. The reason for Dualla being Adama's XO in "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II" may be due to Shaw settling on New Caprica or suffering a more tragic end. Quote
Nightwing Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 Galactica freaks: by now you've probably heard that the Sci-Fi Channel is considering splitting the final season of Battlestar Galactica into two parts, which isn't unusual for television or the show itself. What is a bit perturbing is the rumor that the back end of the season won't air until 2009. "We've been waiting for months for the show to start again." However, there is a new sentiment around Hollywood that breaking a season into two parts--whether it is a few months or a year--is a death sentence. Apparently the execs at the Sci-Fi Channel are still trying to figure out which direction to take. According to TVWeek.com, the suits are still discussing their options with Battlestar, and at least one exec is "firmly against the idea" of splitting the series into two 10-episode halves. "It doesn't affect my job either way since we're shooting it straight through," creator Ronald Moore told TVWeek. "It might be better to get it all done [in the same year] for the fans so they don't have to wait." And if Moore's sentiments are correct and the show is split, Sci-Fi might have a riot on its hands. "When people see the ending of the 10th episode, they're going to freak out," he said. TVWeek says the final decision to split or not to split may not be made until January, a few months after the premiere of the two-hour Battlestar telefilm, Razor. Budget is a big factor in the decision, and Battlestar uses a larger portion of Sci-Fi's cash than others. However, there may be life after Battlestar runs its course. The rumored spinoff Caprica (named after the home planet of some members of the Galactica crew) was once thought to be dead, but is now back in the thoughts of the network. The idea is simple: retain some of the Battlestar audience by launching a two-hour telefilm, and if it does well, turn it into a series. Sound familiar? It's the same way Sci-Fi handled Battlestar Galactica. So say we all! Source: TV.com Quote

Nightwing Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Gotta love those wily scribes at Battlestar Galactica. The fourth and final (sniff!) season of the acclaimed Sci Fi series doesn't yet have a set air date—a rep says look for it early next year (more on that in a bit)—so for an appetizer, the show's cooked up Razor, a two-hour flashback episode airing Nov. 24. (An extended-cut DVD hits shelves Dec. 4.) The story is ostensibly about the first mission of the (now-lost) Battlestar Pegasus under the command of Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber), which falls roughly in the latter half of the second season. It's told, though, through the eyes of new character Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Jacobsen). ''Lee promotes [her] to be his [second-in-command],'' explains show-runner Ronald D. Moore, ''and you wonder, who is this woman?'' That question, says Moore, allows the show to explore ''a lot of things that we've talked about or alluded to but never actually seen. You start flashing all the way back to before the Cylon attack on the colonies, to who she was, how she came to the Pegasus, what happened to them, and what was their story before they met up with Galactica.'' The Pegasus backstory means that yes, the hard-bitten, uncompromising Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes) will be returning, much to the delight of the writers. ''Everyone sat up [in the writers room] and said, 'Yeah! Let's do something with Pegasus and Admiral Cain,''' reports Moore, ''because everyone missed her.'' And we'll get to see just how Cylon agent Gina (Tricia Helfer), a ''Six'' model, went from posing as a systems analyst to the beaten, raped, and tortured prisoner in the Pegasus brig eventually responsible for axing Adm. Cain. But Razor isn't just confined within the Pegasus bulkheads. ''Along the way,'' says Moore, ''we also do things like flash back to the original Cylon wars 40 years ago. We see a young [William] Adama [who will be played by a younger actor, not Edward James Olmos] fighting in a Viper. We move around quite a bit in the chronology of the series.'' Although that chronology won't include any sort of resolution to the season 3 cliffhanger, Moore does guarantee that ''there are some things that happen in Razor that set up things in the fourth season.'' Yeah, about that fourth season: ''It's very big,'' promises Moore. ''We're moving very strongly into the finale of the show. It's about getting to Earth, and what does Earth mean, and what is it, and where is it.'' Along with previously announced guest star Lucy Lawless (who'll pop up again for a few episodes as messianic Cylon D'Anna Biers), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine alum Nana Visitor will appear in an episode as a cancer patient undergoing treatment with President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell). Oh, and Moore says that, yes, he does know who the final unknown Cylon is; yes, whoever is playing that character knows he or she has been anointed; but no, they haven't shot the reveal yet (it will most likely be in the second half of the season). Just when we get to see that half, however, is still very much up in the air. When asked about recent reports that Battlestar's final episodes may not air until 2009, Moore is noncommittal. ''That's a possibility,'' he concedes. ''No decisions have been made in terms of airdates and how many episodes they're going to run. There's a lot of factors, everything from there are other series they're going to have on the air [to] a possibility of a writers strike and how that affects programming. It's a complicated equation and there's no answer to that yet.'' Really, though, no matter when it airs, Moore is pumped about how it will all end. ''I took the writers on a retreat over the summer for a few days and we had lengthy discussions about Earth, what it's going to be when we get there, and what it means for the show. At this point, I think we're pretty jazzed. We really liked where we ended up. It's certainly a bittersweet thing, because we know it's the end. But we're happy with the direction we're going.''] Quote
