How did it start? An American guy fell in love with a Hungarian girl and decided to check out what Hungary was all about. There he met a theatre director and DJ deep down in the underground of Budapest. Based on his idea and partnering up with their Irish friend they all started working on the concept of uniting traditional dance and folk music with the modern world. From Budapest's talented creative pool, DJs were rounded up, music was made, a CD compiled and a theatre performance put together around the music. This was the first release of GypsyHouse Recordings 'Etchno' the electronic re-thought of Eastern European folk music. Then a French girl fell in love with a Hungarian guy and she settled in Hungary. She happened to be the manager of one of the most exciting Hungarian gypsy bands, Romano Drom, who also participated in the theatre show built around Etchno. Romano Drom thought for a long time about working with DJ's. When the protagonists finally met it was clear that something should be done. The DJ's were happy to follow this unusual path of remixing the beautiful melodies of Romano Drom - filtering the alive gypsy rhythms through their chemical brains. And here is the result. This music started its life even before its release. Its been used in a movie, a TV spot against racism shown on all Hungarian TV channels, played on Hungary's unique gypsy radio station and represented on the Rough Guide to Hungary - a compilation by the well-known UK label World Music Network. YOU can now experience the results of this extraordinary cooperation with this CD.' Edited April 30, 2009 by Теша Тешановић Quote

VoivodBG Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 We Fell To Earth are Richard File and Wendy Rae Fowler, they are from a different planet, musically speaking. We Fell To Earth, the band featuring former UNKLE member Richard File and Queens of the Stone Age / Mark Lanegan collaborator Wendy Rae Fowler, will release their self-titled debut EP on April 27th 2009 through In Stereo Records. The release coincides with their first ever UK live show at ICA in London on April 21st 2009 We Fell To Earth met when both landed in California's High Desert. File had replaced DJ Shadow as one-half of the visionary intergalactic outfit UNKLE and was busy collaborating with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Producer Chris Goss on War Stories. Wendy Rae had played bass for the earthlings? and her voice had graced albums by artists such as QOTSA and Mark Lanegan. It was in Joshua Tree's mythical studio Rancho de la Luna where the two crossed paths for the first time. Rich explains "I realized immediately after our first encounter that we needed to work together" The successful result of their collaboration is directly linked to their backgrounds in different musical worlds. File came from electronic dance music and beat crafting; Wendy Rae came by way of full-out rock. The whole experience comes to life on stage, with the live show consisting of a four-piece multi-instrumentalist band you can expect a musically as well as visually stunning performance. Both the record and the live act promise to rattle all of your senses Debut EP We Fell To Earth available April 28th http://rapidshare.com/files/227141423/We_Fell_To_Earth_-_We_Fell_To_Earth_EP__320_.rar Quote
