NOTE: June's flat is quite clearly a re-dressing of Del and Rodney's flat. It is excusable, though - on an estate of flats, it's quite fesable that the layout of each flat would be almost identical.

Leonard Pearce didn't appear in this episode as he was in hospital at the time and the cast and crew had to begin filming without him. Shortly after, someone arrived on the set to inform them that Leonard Pearce had sadly passed away.

26. Strained Relations

 

 

After Grandad's funeral, Delboy & Rodney are surprised to find that his brother, Uncle Albert, has moved in with them - bringing his nautical nightmares.

The Death of Grandad wasn't intentional, Leonard Pearce who played him died in real life, so Grandad had to be written out. Hence why we never SEE him die, The episode actualy starts with his funaral.

The Trotters are potless so Uncle Albert comes to the rescue by having an 'accident' with the open cellar door of the Nag's Head.

Everythin's pretty cushdie until Arnie's taken ill just as the deal is about to be sealed and Del is left feeling that all that glitters...

Oh no, he's only suffering from that scourge of all yuppies, PMA- Positive Mental Attitude! So, it's going to require some nifty plotting by Rodney and Uncle Albert to get Del to visit the dreaded "D" word!

With his diploma in Computer Science, new job in Casandra's father's firm and impending marriage, Rodney's certainly on the up. Del's even promised to take care of his share of the flat deposit. Only problem is, Del's gone and got himself into a bit of bother over some hooky mobile phones with the less than understanding Driscoll brothers and unless he comes up with 2,000 Pounds pretty sharpish they're going to take care of him... Rodney and Cassandra are married and when he returns home from honeymoon Del Boy gives him some good advice.

He runs something by him but then immediately wishes he hadn't!

Rodney and Cassandra have a fight about her pursuit of Operation Cassandra and he leaves home. He has to sleep on the setee because Raquel hasn't yet agreed to 'stamp Del's card'. In an attempt to make Cassandra jealous Rodney arranges a date with Tanya from the Peckham Exhaust Centre. He backs out before going through with it but somehow Cassandra still finds out. Del's heart is in the right place, pity about his brain!

What can Albert and Del do about Rodney leaving Cassandra and moving back in. Alan suggests that Rodney pick her up when she arrives back from her week in Spain. However chaos at Gatwick means that the evening that Rodney planned doesn't happen. Could there be some connection with Del's purchase of a satellite dish?

With Raquel dusting of her vocal chords in the kitchen and Trig's mate Tony Angelino, the singing dustman, waiting in the wings, everything's sorted. Until Del discovers exactly who the real owner of the club is and the extent of Tony's vocal range...

Who's this guy in front of him in the queue for the Virgin Atlantic Flight? He's acting like he owns the plane!

On the run in the Everglades is not a fun experience but maybe they will bump into someone they know!

Raquel's parents are coming to lunch so Del pulls out all the stops and makes a delicious looking meal - what could go wrong?

Nothing until Uncle Albert mixes up the coffee granules and the gravy granules, with hilarious results!

Raquel's father, being an antique expert, takes an interest in an old dirty watch that Del found in his garage. To his amazement, it is the last one in the country that was made by a certain company - they decide to put it up for auction. In a hilarious scene, we saw the Trotters get ecstatically excited when the watch fetched £10,000 and beyond excited as the watch fetched £6,000,000!!! They had finally acheived their dream - to be millionaires!

Season 9

 

64. If They Could See Us Now...!

It's been five years since we last saw the Trotters. When we last saw them, they were millionaires following the sale of a priceless antique watch.

 

This time, we see Del and Rodney explaining their state of affairs to an unknown man - it turns out that they had invested all their money and had fallen victim to a stock market crash! We later discover that the unknown man is a barrister in a court where they are being declared bankrupt.

 

Where are they living now? Why Nelson Mandela House of course because their large houses had to be sold to pay debts!

 

We see Del going on a gameshow called 'Goldrush' where he answers a question worth £100,000, with Rodney's help, and gets it wrong! - later the producer telephones to tell Del that the answer he gave was in fact correct and that he can re-appear on the show with £50,000 in his 'bank'. Thinking it was one of Mickey Peirce's pranks though, Del tells them to give it all to charity!

 

Also in this episode, we learned sadly that Uncle Albert had died and that Mike, landlord of The Nag's Head, is in jail for deforging the brewery!

NOTE: This episode only took place 4 months after the Trotters became millionaires.

This episode was dedicated to the memory of Buster Merryfield (1920-1999) and Kenneth McDonald (1950-2001).

The producers had to say Mike was arrested for deforging the brewery because Kenneth McDonald didn't want them to say he had died.

Origanlally, Del was supposed to go on "Who Wants to be a Milioneire?" But Legal issues stopped this from happening.

65. Strangers on the Shore

 

 

Del and Rodney go to france for uncle alberts navy crew reunion, they break the sad news that albert has died and they hold a party for albert. del and rodney stock up on french booze and ferry back to peckham, however when they open the back door of their van for the booze, they recieve a nasty surprse, an illegal immagrant!

66. Sleepless in Peckham

 

 

The episode opens with Delboy, Rodney and Boycie in jail in France for kidnapping the 'illegal immigrant'. Of course,they can't call UK, so they can't use up their one and only call. They're all about to be kicked out of Nelson Mandela House of course, Delboy and Rodney are nowhere near get the 50 grand. And, of course, to make matters worse, Cassandra decides to go into labor.

This episode reveals how the entire series was in Lynhurst's and Jason's hands on an episode where Rodney, Delboy and Grandad have to take down a chandelier. If Rodney laughed when the chandelier fell, they would lose the episode (they could only have one take and it cost them £6,000), they would lose the season and would lose the series.

ovu epizodu sam vecheras prvi put gledao celu..uhvatio sam pola josh pre dve godine na BBCu...tad mi se chinila super, a sada shta znam..malo fazona, dobro je ono za sa'ranu..Ali prakticno, prvih pola sata epizode je samo potrosheno da nam se ugura pricha kako su sve izgubili i kako i dalje moze nesto zanimljivo da se deshava, a u medjuvremenu su umrla dva veoma vazna glumca(Majk i Albert, prava imena ne znam na pamet), i dosta se pritom shmeka izgubilo, kao da je maltene na silu radjeno. A to je shte-ta! Jer je po meni savrshen kraj bila ona scena na kraju "Vreme je novac" kada idu prema zalasku sunca Del, Albert i Rodni...i rechenica "This time next year, we could be billioners!!!".

Da,ovo je usiljeno..Raniji shtosovi su bili potpuno realni i jako dobri,ovo ne.Na primer,fazon kad se Rodni javi u program i ispsuje voditelja je toliko puta korishcen da je postao dosadan.

Mike(Kenneth MacDonald),vlasnik Nags Head-a je umro od srchke 2001 godine bash kad je epizoda snimamna pa su zato vec snimljene scene sa njim morali da izbace...a Albert(Buster Merryfield) je umro josh 1999 od tumora na mozgu... icon_cry.gificon_frown.gif

Ste gledali one isto Bozicne specijale snimljene pre dve godine kada opet krenu sve ispocetka. Samo jednom su prikazviali, pa ne mogu se setim bese sta se desvalo tu.

p.s.i ne mislim na bozicni specijal koji je juce prikazivan na B92 jer je on snimljen pre tri cetiri godine icon_mrgreen.gif

Zanimljivo otkrice mi je bilo to da Rodni (tj. Lyndhurst, il' kako se vec zove) uopste ne govori cockney prirodno, naucio ga je na Akademiji (ili gde je vec ucio glumu). Ocito je da Rodni i Del ne govore isto, eto i razloga: Del (tj. David Jason) govori prirodno.

Sto, siguran sam, mnogo zanima sve citaoce ove teme icon_smile.gif.

Asistent na faksu (infamous Goran Stanic:rockdevil: ) je rekao da se primecuje da Lyndhurst i jos neki glumci koji nisu native cockney ponekad malo preteruju sa imitiranjem doticnog. Naravno suptilne nijanse su u pitanju. icon_mrgreen.gif
